Very fine and rare 18-carat gold and enamel automaton watch quarter repeating on bells. Double body polished 'Empire' case. Small off-set white enamel dial with Breguet numerals. Blued steel Breguet hands. Gold dial plate with an enamel painted mountain landscape (slightly restored) and two applied three coloured chiselled gold Jacks, striking the quarters at will, on two bells. On the foreground, another three coloured gold chiselled automaton scene, with a Cupid blowing the fire on the forge, a knife-grinder Cupid and a third Cupid forging the weapons of Venus. Gilt brass double train movement with inset bells, cylindrical pillars, cylinder escapement with plain brass three armed balance. Repeating on two bells by depressing the pendant. Very good condition. Diam. 55 mm.
