Very unusual 18-carat gold and enamel 'night and day' watch with 24 hour dial. Double body case, part of the back with a translucent brown enamel over engine turning (restored), further ' cloisonné' enamelled floral decoration, the winding hole with a shutter. 24 hour white enamel dial with Roman numerals and outer Arabic minute ring (hair cracks), the central gold plate, marked: 'Le jour - La nuit', engraved with stars and with a semi-circular aperture for the enamel painted night and day volvelle. Gold hands. Full plate gilt brass movement with cylindrical pillars, fusee and chain, cylinder escapement, plain brass three armed balance, continental cock. In good condition. Diam. 42 mm.
