Denise Dresser, Doctor in Politics
Denise Dresser is a prominent exper t in Mexican politics. A professor of political
science at the ITAM (Instituto Tecnologico Autonomo de Mexico), she is a frequent
commentator on Mexican issues in the American and Canadian media and a columnist
for leading Mexican publications. Her research has centered on the political economy
of Mexico?s democratic transition. She has also taught at Georgetown University
and the University of California, Berkeley in the USA. Her most recent publication
is an Edited collection of essays by well-known Mexican women entitled ?Gritos y
susurros : experiencias intempestivas de 38 mujeres?, that has also been produced
as a television documentary.

Her broad-ranging career as a self-taught photographer spans 40 years of activity.
Blanca Charolet has worked in turn as a press reporter (she is indeed the first
Mexican woman press photographer in Mexico), as well as official photographer
for the Mexican Presidency and as a portrait photographer for celebrities of artistic,
political and scientific circles in Mexico. She has contributed to around twenty books
and over sixty exhibitions. Her personal work focuses on bringing out the inside and
outside of a person?s beauty through a portrait, as well as cultural and poetic themes
including landscapes.
The lot consists of 2 photographs and a TAG Heuer ladies? watch issued in a limited numbered edition, signed by Uma Thurman and by UNIFEM.
