"Thin Quarter-Repeater" Robert & Courvoisier, La Chaux de Fonds, No. 24870. Made circa 1815. Very fine and rare, thin, large, quarter-repeating, 18K gold pocket watch with visible movement.
C. Two-body, "Directoire", polished, concave bezel, concealed hinge. Spring-loaded gilt-metal cuvette. D. Annular white enamel, Breguet numerals, outer minute divisions, the center with aperture exposing the movement. Blued steel skeletonized hands. M. 51 mm., 22 1/2''', frosted gilt, full plate, cylinder escapement, three-arm brass balance, flat balance spring, index regulator, polished steel bridge, repeating on gongs actvated by depressing the pendant, polished steel repeating work on the backplate.
