Notes

The engraving on the cock ?Patent Feb 5, 67? refers to American patent No. 61867, granted to George P. Reed of Boston, Massachusetts, an employee of the Waltham Watch Company, for a ?Regulator for a balance by a screw and a spring?, which today we call "swan-neck" micrometric regulator.
