Outer: two-body, back repoussé with an unusual scene of a lady playing a harpsichord hanging from a man's shoulders while another, holding a spade, listens, sunburst repoussé background, bezels pierced for sound and repoussé with rocailles. Inner: two-body, bassine, pierced and engraved with foliage and rocailles, polished center. D. Gilt silver, champlevé Roman chapters with rosette half-hour markers, outer minute divisions with five-minute Arabic markers on oval polished cartouches, matte bckground, the center pierced with foliage on blued steel background. Blued steel ?poker and beetle? hands. M. 32 mm ø, gilt brass full plate, square baluster pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement, plain three-arm brass balance, blued steel flat balance spring, single-footed English style cock, rack and pinion regulator with silver plate and Roman markers, repeating on a bell by depressing the pendant, gilt dust-cap with an aperture for the regulator.Signed on the dial and movement, dust-cap engraved ?London?.
