"The Temple of Buddha" Geneva Clock Co., No. 12871. Made circa 1925. Fine and rare, Art Deco, lapis lazuli, rock crystal, coral, silver-gilt, enamel and painted on mother of pearl 8-day going clock with the original gold-tooled fitted morocco case.
C. Rectangular, inclined lapis lazuli base with scroll feet, the clock between two rock crystal pillars with gilt-metal and enamel capitals, coral discs above and below the clock, stepped lapis lazuli top with domed ends, a carved quartz Buddha between, square clock case with incurved corners, decorated with pale blue enamel. D. Pale blue enamel chapter ring with painted oriental style Arabic numerals, the centre with a finely painted on mother-of-pearl view of an Oriental lake landscape. Gold hands decorated with blue and black enamel. M. 19''', rhodium-plated, "fausses-cotes" decoration, 15 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator. Case and movement signed. Dim. 115 x 125 x 39 mm.
