Concealed Erotic Scene ?The Lovers? Swiss, retailed by Musy Pere et Fils, Horlogers de S.A.S., A Turin, No. 6008. Made circa 1830 for the Italian market. Very fine and very rare, quarter repeating, vari-colored gold, ruby and turquoise-set pocket watch with concealed painted on enamel erotic scene.

C. Four-body, "bassine", profusely decorated with applied yellow, green, and rose gold floral and foliate motifs set with rubies and turquoises, the band and bow decorated to match. Hinged gold cuvette set with a finely painted on enamel panel depicting a couple in a compromising position. D. Gold, engine-turned with a chequerboard pattern, radial Roman numerals on polished reserves, outer minute track. Blued steel ?Scotties? hands. M. 41 mm., frosted gilt, standing barrel, cylinder escapement, three-arm gold balance, blued steel flat balance spring, index regulator, repeating on gongs activated by depressing the pendant.
