Dufalga à Genève, enamel painted in the manner of J.B. Favre, circa 1775. Fine 20 ct. gold and enamel pair cased, diamondset quarter repeating watch.

Outer: engraved and chased in two colour gold with interlaced foliage, rose diamond set bezel and thumbpiece, back panel decorated in polychrome enamels with a detailed scene of the sacrifice of Jacob. Inner: polished gold pierced with foliage pattern surrounding the band. Large diamond on the pendant, detachable gilt metal dust cap. D. White enamel with Roman numerals and outer Arabic minute ring. Diamond-set Louis XV hands. M. Hinged gilt brass full plate with cylindrical pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement, plain brass three arm balance, flat balance spring, gilt brass continental cock with polished steel end-piece. Repeating on a bell by depressing the pendant. Signed on the back plate. In very good condition. Diam.49 mm.

Probably Philippe Dufalga, son of François, from Revel, Haut-Languedoc (France). Citizen of Geneva in 1745. J. B. Favre, painter on enamel. Born in Geneva, 1751- 1807. He signs a very similar scene on a watch by Terreaux l'Aîné, published in "Orologi nel Tempo" by Luigi Pippa, page 165.
