F. Dent, 61 Strand, London , No. 1547, circa 1880. Very special Anglo-French gilt brass eight day going, hour and half hour striking carriage dock.

C. Gilt brass, glazed three sides and top, latched plated gilt brass door. D. White enamel with Roman chapters, gilt, engraved foliate surround, gilt-brass bevelled frame, blued steel "spade" hands, hours, minutes. M. Rectangular with going barrels for both the going and striking trains. Very special fully jewelled British platform escapement with single roller, pointed-tooth escape wheel, cut bimetallic balance, blued steel balance spring with terminal curve, ruby endstone to balance cock. Striking on a bell. Signed on the dial and back plate. In very good condition. Dim. 15 x 10 x 8 cm. excluding the handle.
