Rare and most desirable small gilt-brass cased, eight day going, chronometer, timepiece carriage clock with "single-staple" balance and helical balance spring. All in original, lockable travelling box, covered black morocco, lined blue velvet, and with front slide, original key to Barron's patent lock and original numbered winding 1cey.
C. Gilt brass, glazed four sides and top. D. White enamel, gilt engine-turned surround, sunk seconds dial, blued steel hands, gilt-brass bevelled frame to whole. M. Brass rectangular, fusee and chain, maintaining power, Earnshaw-type spring-detent escapement with inverted escape wheel, E.J. Dent's " single-staple" balance, blued steel helical spring with terminal curves, diamond endstone to balance cock. Movement frames cut to lower the balance assembly and to show off its beauty. Signed on dial and movement. In very good condition. The travelling box lacks its carrying-strap. Dim. 14.5 X 10.5 x 8 cm. excluding handle.
