M.F. Dent, 33 Cockspur St, London, No. 17904, mid-19th Century. Good gilt brass cased, eight-day going, carriage clock, striking and repeating hours on a gong, lever escapement, subsidiary seconds.

C. Gilt brass, glazed on three sides and top, solid back door, repeat button. D. White enamel, gilt engine-turned surround, Roman chapters, blued steel "spade" bands, steel seconds hand. M. Brass rectangular, spotted, fusees and chains for both trains, maintaining power on going side, platform lever escapement, single-roller pointed tooth wheel, cut bimetallic balance, balance spring with outer terminal curve, diamond endstone to balance cock, repeat button, strike/silent. Signed on dial and movement. hl good condition. Dim. 19 x 15 x 12.5 cm. excluding handle.
