James McCabe, Royal Exchange, London, No. 3278, 3rd quarter 19th Century, Very good, small gilt brass cased, eight day going, cariage clock striking, and repeating hours on a gong lever escapement. Original mahogany brassbound, fitted, travelling box, lined with green baize and with front slide, lock, original key,

C. Gilt brass, glazed three sides and top, repeat button. D. Silvered brass, Roman chapters, blued steel "fleur de lys" bands, silvered brass bevelled frame to whole. M. Brass rectangular, fusees and chains to both trains, maintaining power on going side. Platform lever escapement underslung, single roller, pointed-tooth wheel, plain brass balance, flat balance spring, ruby endstone to balance cock, strike/silent. Signed on dial and movement. In very good condition Dim. 16 x 10 3/4 x 8 cm. Excluding handle.
