Daniel de St. Leu, Watchmaker to Her Majesty, London, No. 39700, made for the Islamic Market, circa 1815. Very fine 18 ct. gold pair-cased, diamond-set quarter striking dock watch, with tortoise-shell covered protecting case, matching gold diamondset chatelaine and keys .

Outer, double body, the diamond-set bezel pierced and engraved with a floral decoration, the back engraved with a coat-of-arms, three crescents in pale on a military trophy and chased with a garland of leaves, the edge pierced and engraved with a floral decoration matching that of the bezel. haler, double body, bassine, the back pierced and engraved with scrolling foliage and flowers. Tortoiseshell protecting case with gold piqué work decoration in a floral pattern. D. White enamel with Turkish numerals. Gold "poker and beetle" bands. M. Gilt brass full plate with cylindrical pillars, fusee and chais, verge escapement, plain brass three-arm balance, gilt brass Enghsh cock. Striking on a bell with strike/silent selection lever on the bezel. Signed on the dial and the back plate. In very good condition. Diam. 62 mm.
