C. H. Meylan, Brassus, Swiss, No. 5071, retailed by Dillon Hanchor & Co. Wheeling, West Virginia. Made in the 1880s. Very fine and rare, keyless, minute-repeating, 18K yellow gold pocket watch with split-seconds chronograph, register and ?Superior Adjustment?.
C. Three-body, "bassine et filets?, solid, polished, hinged gold cuvette. D. White enamel with radial Arabic numerals, outer minute and chronograph divisions, sunk subsidiary dials for the seconds and 30-minute register. Blued steel ?spade? hands. M. Cal. 18''', ?Superior Adjustment?, bridge caliber, maillechort, "fausses côtes" decoration, 39 jewels, straight line counterpoised lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, ?swan-neck? micrometer regulator, repeating on gongs by activating slide on the band. Movement signed, case numbered, dial signed by the retailer. Diam. 51 mm.
