Rectangular rock crystal case with rounded stepped pediment, yellow gold mount on a rectangular onyx base, yellow gold with white champlevé enamelled Roman chapter ring, rosecut diamond-set inner border, placed within a rectangular frang e decorated en suite, with rose-cut diamond-set hands. Rectangular brass frosted and gilt movement with going barrel, gilt platform with straight fine lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance, Breguet balance spring. Measuring approx. 14 cm. high. Accompanied by original fitted leather travelling box. Cartier Certificate of Authenticity N° 2433.

Notes

This is an early example of the first type of Mystery docks "Modèle A" produced by Cartier from 1913 and which established the Maison's reputation in this field. The "Modèle A" was the most sought after among the Mystery Clocks to date, only about 60 have been created.
