Unsigned, attributable to Henry Capt, Geneva, circa 1810. Very fine and rare 18K gold and enamel, diamond-set harp with music.

A maiden, reading a musical score finely painted on a small enamel panel on the back of the instrument, flowers and musical trophies, painted on the side panels and further champleve enamelled musical trophies against an azure ground, a rose diamond set at the end of each rope. M. Gilt brass with pointed barrel and six stacked vibrating steel blades. Dini. 69 x 33 mm.

In the period this harp was made, Henry Capt and Piguet Meylan were producing such types of musical objects of vertu in Geneva. The musical movement with pin-barrel and stacked steel blades is very much in the style of those produced by Henry Capt.
