Ageron, Paris, circa 1755. Very fine and rare small gilt bronze, Louis XV, eight day going, hour and half hour striking cartel, with special escapement.
C. Shaped, chased with rocaille decoration with glazed balance aperture below the dial, florally engraved frets on the side panels and foliate finial at the top. D. White enamel wit Roman numerals and outer Arabic minute ring. Gilt brass Louis XV hands. M. Brass circular with going barrels both for the going and the striking trains, Thiout development of the Chevalier de Bethune double lever escapement, short pendulum with silk suspension. Striking on a bell with count wheel on the back plate. Signed on the dial and movement. Dim. 30 x 17 x 9 cm.
