Du Bois & Fils au Locle, No. 3770, circa 1820. Fine and unusual 18K gold quarter repeating watch with special escapement.
C. Four body, Empire, engine-turned with split reeded band. Hinged gold cuvette. D. White enamel with Roman numerals and outer minute ring. Blued steel "pear" hands. M. 21''', gilt brass full plate, fusee with chain and maintaining power, single wheel duplex escapement with steel escape wheel, plain steel three-arm balance, blued steel flat balance spring with regulator. Repeating on gongs by depressing the pendant. Signed on the cuvette. Diam. 57 mm.
