French, Royal exchange, No.7875, made for the Islamic Market with London hallmarks for 1845. Very fine 18K gold hunting cased eight day going watch with special escapement, accompanied by a short gold chain and ratchet key.
C. Four body, massive, "bassine" by Louis Comptesse ( Master marks) fully engraved with scrolled foliage, also engraved inside cover and back with flowers. Hinged gold cuvette with matching decoration. D. Gold champleve with Turkish numerals and sunk subsidiary seconds, fully engraved with flowers and foliage. Blued steel Breguet hands. M. 18''', gilt brass, bar calibre with twin going barrels, five wheel train, 15 jewels, single wheel duplex escapement, cut bimetallic balance, blued steel flat balance spring. Signed on the dial and movement. Diam. 51 mm.
