Louis Audemars, Brassus, Swiss, No. 8133, made for Charles Oudin, Horloger de S.M. l'Empereur, Horloger de la Marine, 52, Palais Royal, Paris, Medailles et Brevets de 1806 a 1861, No. 18709, circa 1868. Very fine and rare 18K gold, keyless quarter repeating pocket chronometer.
C. Four body, massive, " bassine et filets " , polished. Hinged gold cuvette. D. White enamel two piece, the sunk centre with gold rim. Gold "poker and beetle" hands. M. 19"', gilt brass, unusual bar calibre with gold wheel train, fusee and chain, maintaining power, 26 jewels, spring detent escapement, two-arm compensation balance with gold poising and timing screws, blued steel helical spring with terminal curves. Repeating on gongs with slide in the band. Signed on cuvette, Louis Audemars Trade mark on the case. Diam. 54 mm.
