Tavernier a Paris, circa 1810. Very fine and rare eight day going gilt and oxidised bronze, hour and half-hour striking pyramidal clock.
C. The movement is fitted in the black patinated bronze pyramid applied above the dial with a fine ormolu panel chased with a scene depicting Venus and Cupid on a cloud, below a flying cherub, foliage decoration applied beneath the dial, gilt bronze foliage decoration applied on the base, armilary sphere on the top, lion's heads on the side panels and four engine-turned feet. D. White enamel with Roman numerals. Gilt brass Breguet hands. M. Brass circular with going barrels both for the going and the striking trains, anchor escapement, short pendulum with silk suspension. Striking on a bell with count wheel on the back plate. Signed on the dial. Height 55,5 cm.
