L. Tavernier a Paris, No. 1600, circa 1810. Very fine 18K gold quarter repeating watch with special escapement.
C. Three body, Empire, engine-turned with reeded band, the back with an azure champleve enamelled initial "L" within a cartouche en reserve. Hinged gilt brass cuvette. D. White enamel by Lucard No. 1600 (signed on the enamel backing) with Breguet numerals. Blued steel hands. M. 22"', gilt brass, drawn from the Lepine calibre with free standing barrel, single wheel duplex escapement, plain brass three-arm balance, blued steel flat balance spring with Breguet bimetallic compensation curb on the regulator index. Repeating on gongs by depressing the pendant. Signed on the dial and cuvette. Diam. 58 mm.
