?Mercury & Ceres? F. Manke a Sternberg, No. 5735. Made circa 1810. Fine quarter repeating 18K gold pocket watch with automata.
C. Three-body, "Empire", polished back, reeded band, spring loaded gilt metal cuvette. D. Small, white enamel, Arabic numerals and outer minute divisions, chased vari-colored gold figures of Mercury and Ceres flanking the dial, appearing to strike the hours and quarters on two bells, a basket of flowers below, on a blue enamel ground with gold painted foliate border. Gold Breguet hands. M. 52 mm., frosted gilt, full-plate with cylindrical pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement, plain brass three-arm balance with flat balance spring, pierced and chased continental balance cock, repeating on two gongs by depressing the pendant. Cuvette signed. Diam. 55 mm.
