Moritz Grossmann, Glashütte. Chronometer Escapement, made circa 1890. Fine, nickel plated, brass and steel model of an Earnshaw-type chromometer escapement.
C. Later turned ebonised wooden base with glass dome. M. 100 mm., circular, nickel plated, cylindrical pillars, going barrel, Earnshaw type escapement with brass escape wheel, spring footed detent with metal locking pin, bimetallic compensation balance with peripheral meantime and temperature adjustment screws, blued steel helical balance spring. Signed on the upper plate. Dim. 15 x 17. 5 cm. overall.
