Bausse au Meridien, Boulevard D?Antin, Paris, case No. 353. Paris hallmarks for 1798 ? 1809. Very fine, small, 18K gold and champlevé enamel pendant watch with a two-color gold and enamel chatelaine, made circa 1870. Accompanied by a leather covered fitted box.
C. Three-body, ?Empire?, by Joly, polished bezel, the band decorated with black champleve enamel and stylised gold leaves, the back cover decorated with graduated rings of dark blue and skyblue enamel with geometric patterns and leaves, the centre with foliate engraved monogram ?PS?. Chatelaine with pale blue oval enamelled disc applied with chased foliate gold initials ?ES?, surrounded by a two-coloured gold ribbon and leaf border and with three chains below, for the watch, a seal and a key. D. White enamel with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track. Blued steel Breguet hands. M. 24 mm., gilt brass, full-plate, going barrel, cylinder escapement, three-arm brass balance wheel, both pivots jewelled, shaped cock, index regulator. Movement signed. Scratched on the dial plate: Aubert a Paris, 13 Mai 1808. Case with Joly Mastermark. Diam. 29 mm.
