LOSADA HUNTING CASED DUPLEX WATCH GOLD J.R. Losada, 105 Regent Street, London, No. 5129. The case with London hallmarks for 1862-3. Made for the Hispanic market. Fine, heavy 18K yellow gold hunting cased pocket watch with duplex escapement.
Four-body, "bassine", by Alfred Stram (AS), covers, band and bezels entirely chased and engraved with floral and foliate decoration, front with engraved coat of arms. Hinged gold cuvette. Silver with applied gold decoration, radial Roman numerals, outer minute track and outermost applied gold leaf and flower pattern, center with applied gold flower basket, subsidiary seconds. Blued steel fleur-de-lis hands. 17''', frosted gilt, fusee and chain, three quarter plate, jeweled to the third with screwed gold chatons, duplex escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel flat balance spring, engraved cock with diamond endstone, index regulator.
