L'EPÉE CARRIAGE CLOCK L'Epée, France. Made in the late 20th century. Fine, gold-plated, 8-day going, alarm carriage clock. Accompanied by a fitted box and key.
Gold plated, "gorge", polished, brushed glazed sides and back door, the top glazed to view the escapement, hinged carrying handle. White with radial Roman numerals, outer minute divisions, subsidiary for alarm setting, Blued steel scotties hands. Rectangular, gilt brass, four pillars, going barrels for the going and striking trains and alarm, 11 jewels, straight-line lever escapement mounted on a matte gilt platform, monometallic balance, flat balance spring, index regulator.
