EDWARD & SONS - MINUTE REPEATER George Edward & Sons, London & 19 Buchanan St., Glasgow, No. 2253. Made circa 1880. Fine, 18K gold keyless minute-repeating pocket watch.
Four-body, solid, "bassine", polished. Hinged gold cuvette. White enamel, radial Roman numerals, outer minute track, subsidiary seconds. Blued steel spade hands. 38 mm. frosted gilt three-quarter-plate, jeweled to the third wheel with screwed gold chatons, lateral English lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, Breguet balance spring with overcoil, repeating on gongs, slide on the band. Movement signed, case with continental gold marks.
