JOHN FAVER GOLD AGATE AND DIAMOND John Faver, London, No. 1601. Made circa 1790. Very fine and rare, gold, agate and rose-cut diamond-set key-wound pocket watch.
Two-body, Louis XVI, decorated and pierced bezel set with agate, button at 3 set with a rose-cut diamond in silver, the back with striped agate set within a gold rim decorated with flowers and scrolls. White enamel with radial Roman numerals, outer scrolled minute track with 5-minute Arabic markers, winding aperture at 4. Pierced blued steel hands. 24 mm., matte gilt, pentagonal baluster pillars, fuse and chain, verge escapement with micrometric adjustment, three arm balance, flat balance spring, pierced and engraved continental-type cock, silvered regulation dial.
