"Tonneau Power-Reserve" Chopard, Genève, "Tonneau Power-Reserve", Ref. 2248. Made circa 2000. Very fine and rare, tonneau-shaped, self-winding, water-resistant, 18K white gold gentleman's wristwatch with date, power-reserve indication and an 18K white gold Chopard buckle.
C. Three-body, solid, polished, case back with 8 screws, stepped bezel, cabochon sapphire-set winding-crown, sapphire crystal. D. Two-tone silver with painted radial Roman numerals, subsidiary "guilloché" dials for the seconds and the days of the month, up-and-down indication at 3. Blued steel "Breguet" hands. M. Cal. 9644, rhodium-plated, "fausses côtes" decoration, 21 jewels, straight line lever escapement, monometallic balance adjusted to 5 positions, shock-absorber, self-compensating flat balance-spring. Dial, case and movement signed. Dim. 33 x 38 mm. Thickness 8 mm.
