Notes

The present watch is one of the very rare examples of the reference 3448 that were sold through Cartier?s New York showroom as confi rmed by the Cartier certifi cate included with this lot. Interestingly, another Ref. 3448 with the next ascending movement and case number to the present watch and also retailed by Cartier was sold by Antiquorum, Geneva, May 8th, 2010, lot 490. That watch was also sold on 12th June, 1968 and therefore likely to have been bought by one and the same customer. The Cartier signature, perhaps due to fading, has been reinforced in recent years.
