Cartier, France, No. 835, circa 1930. Fine and unusual 18-carat gold mysterious carriage timepiece in original red leather travelling fitted case.
Rectangular engine-turned case, glazed on both the front and the back face. The movement is concealed horizontally on the base and can be seen from the front through a double prism. From the rear face, the case seems to be umpty. Mat silver dial with inlaid gold indexes, gold hands. Nickel plated European Watch & Clock Co., 8 day going move-ment, "à vagues" decoration, 15 jewels, straight line lever escapement, monometallic balance with screws and self compensated balance spring. In very good condition. Dim. 75 x 46 x 46 mm.
