Cartier, France, No. 46119, circa 1930. Very unusual gilt silver mysterious miniature carriage timepiece, in original red leather travelling fitted case.

Very small humpbacked case with engine turned sides, glazed both on the front and the back. The movement is concealed horizontally on the base and can be seen from the front through a double prism. From the rear face, the case seems to be umpty. Mat silver dial with black indexes. Blued steel " bâton" hands. 6,5"' rhodium plated Cartier movement, " fausses-côtes" decoration, 15 jewels. Swiss lateral lever escapement, monometallic balance with screws and self compensated balance spring. In good condition. Dim. 38 x 27 mm.
