Breguet a Paris, Swiss, circa 1800. Fine and unusual gilt brass and enamel, paste-set table watch.

Designed as a classical urn with paste-set rectangular base, bezel pendant and handles, the face of blue enamel with paillonne floral decoration, the back decorated en suite and centred with a fine allegory of Painting, painted en grisaille within a white frame, over a blue ground. D. White enamel with Arabic numerals. Gilt brass "sun" hands. M. Hinged gilt brass full plate with cylindrical pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement, plain brass threearm balance, gilt brass continental cock with polished steel end-piece. Apocryphal signature on the dial. Dim. 150 x 68 mm, including handles and bow.
