BREGUET QUARTER-REPEATING GOLD Breguet, No. 1293, sold on 25 prairial an 11 (June 14,1803) , for 840 francs. Very fine and rare, "répétition à cuvette", 18K gold pocket watch with quarter-repeating à toc and ruby cylinder escapement.
Four-body, "Empire", No. 744, by Joly (master mark),engine- turned and polished, reeded band. Gilt brass cuvette. White enamel by Borel, Breguet numerals and outer minute track, secret signature below 12. Blued steel "Breguet" hands. 47 mm., gilt, standing barrel, overhanging ruby cylinder escapement, plain three-arm balance with parachute on the top pivot, blued steel flat balance spring, index regulator with bimetallic temperature compensation curb, all-or-nothing repeating with two hammers on the side of the case activated by depressing the pendant.
