BREGUET & FILS A MONSIEUR LE BARON SCHICKLER ''HORLOGE MARINE PLATE A QUATRE BARILLETS'' BRASS Breguet et Fils No. 3397, sold to Mr. Schickler on 27 August 1835, for 2500 Francs. Very fine and important, mahogany and brass-cased long duration marine Chronometer with eccentric dial, four barrels, differential winding and ratchet key, deadbeat seconds. Accompanied by a Breguet certificate from 27 july 1976.
Three body mahogany deck-watch type box. Oval plated bowl in oval gimbal. Silver plated, black painted roman indexes, center seconds Blued steel spade hands. Brass, three-quarter with spotted finish and turned pillars, 4 large barrels for long duration, Earnshaw type spring detent escapement, three arm compensation balance with cylindrical weights and timing screws, parachute shock absorber, free sprung polished steel helical balance spring with terminal curve.
