As the absolute reference in the field of fine watchmaking thanks to inventions that have made an indelible imprint on horological history, Breguet is also an integral part of the European cultural heritage. Its unique stature stems naturally from the inventive spirit of its founder, A.-L. Breguet (1747-1823), as well as from the work of its contemporary master watchmakers. The brand has been a perpetual source of fascination due to its consistently confirmed capacity for innovation. This quality has been illustrated by fundamental developments such as the perpétuelle or self-winding watch in 1780 and the tourbillon in 1801, but also by the first 10Hz frequency mechanical chronograph in 2010, and the Breguet silicon balance spring that same year. Not to mention the first mechanical watch with an instant time zone display and a memory featuring synchronised date, day/night and city indications; and the magnetic regulator incorporated within the Réveil Musical in 2011. These creations once again demonstrate Breguet?s incredible ability to manufacture new products while faithfully preserving its ancestral hand-crafted expertise. While resolutely in the technical vanguard, Breguet watches incorporate the attributes consistently adorning creations from the venerable House for over two centuries ? such as hand-guilloché dials, finely fluted case middles, blued steel hands, secret signature, unique number, Breguet numerals and soldered lugs. Each Breguet timepiece is a perfect embodiment of beauty and high tech.
