Breguet Horloger de la Marine Royale, No 3890, case 161. Started on the 3.10.1821, completed on the 21.10.1823, sold to the Chevalier Airoldi on the 30th October 1833 for Fr. 1140. With certificate No 3718.
Important 18-carat gold quarter repeating watch. Massive triple body engine turned 'Empire' case made by JOLY (case maker Master mark), gilt brass cuvette. Silver engine turned dial (also by Joly), with Roman numerals. Blued steel Breguet hands. Very fine gilt brass bar movement, 6 jewels, Breguet ruby cylinder escapement, plain brass three armed balance, 'parachute' suspension and compensation curb. Repeating on two gongs with two hammers by means of lockable piston on the pendant. In good condition with a short gold chain and a key. Later Breguet fitted case. Diam. 54 mm.
