Breguet, No. 6339, Swiss, made for the Islamic market, circa 1830. Fine 18 ct. gold and enamel, "cabriolet" pair cased quarter repeating watch.
C. Outer double body, massive, the bezel with champleve enamelled decoration, the back with a fine painted bunch of flowers against a pink ground, outer floral decoration against a red translucent enamel, over engine-turning. Inner four body, massive, with champleve enamelled bezels pendant and bow, the back enamelled with a fine painted lake side landscape within a red translucent enamel frame over engineturning with outer green champleve enamelled decoration. Gold cuvette. The watch can be set in the outer case to be used either as an open face or as a hunter. D. White enamel with Turkish numerals. Gold Breguet hands. M. 18"', gilt brass, 9 jewels, ruby cylinder escapement, plain gilt brass three arm balance with "parachute" suspension, flat balance spring with bimetallic compensation curb on the index. Repeating on gongs with pull-twist piston on the pendant. Signed on the dial and cuvette. In very good condition. Diam. 48 mm.
