Breguet et Cie, No. 735, sold to the Dépôt de la Marine, on August 4, 1855, for 600 Francs. Fine and rare, small, mahogany and brass cased 30-hour deck chronometer with power reserve indication and the original large Breguet ratchet key.
C. Brass bowl with glazed screw-down bezel and set into a rectangular brass plate secured by four screws. Three-tier mahogany box, the top with a lozenge-shaped plaque inscribed: No. 735. D. Silvered brass with radial Roman numerals, outer dot minute divisions, subsidiary seconds, power reserve sector below 12. Blued steel Breguet hands. M. 62 mm., gilt brass fullplate, tapered cylindrical pillars, the backplate relieved for the barrel, fusee and chain with maintaining power, spring detent escapement, two-arm bimetallic compensation balance with wedge-shaped weights and four timing screws, free-sprung blued steel helical balance spring with terminal curves, diamond endstone. Dial and case signed, movement numbered. Dim. 119 x 100 x 69 mm.
