AUDEMARS PIGUET STAR WHEEL 125TH ANNIVERSARY Audemars Piguet, Genève, "Millenary Star Wheel," case No. E 26857, Ref. 25898 ST. Made in a limited edition of 50 examples in the 1990's for the 125th Anniversary of Audemars Piguet. Very fine, rare and unusual, horizontal oval, self-winding, stainless steel wristwatch with date, 38 hours autonomy and a stainless steel Audemars Piguet deployant clasp. Inspired by one of the most important inventions of the 18th century, "The aperture watch." Accompanied by a fitted box and certificate.

C. Two-body, polished and brushed, case back with 6 screws, curved straight lugs, sapphire crystal. D. Bicolor navy blue and white, the hour graduations on three translucent sapphire discs, each with four painted blue stylized hour indicators, on the right, white sector indicating the 59 minutes in painted Arabic numerals and indexes, at the center, a rhodium-plated wheel with three equidistant arms, carrying the spring-loaded rotating star wheel sapphire discs. M. Cal.2224, rhodium-plated, fausses cotes decoration, 35 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, monometallic balance adjusted to heat, cold, isochronism and 5 positions, shock absorber, self-compensating fl at balance spring, 21K gold rotor segment. Dial, case and movement signed. Dim. 41 x 37 mm. Thickness 9 mm.
